4th Anniversary

1 Nov 2011 marks our 4th Anniversary together! I got flowers from CC delivered to the office in the morning, its French Kiss from FarEast Flora. So sweet and really brighten up my day, chase away Monday blues!!

We went to Marina Bay Sands, Jewel Cove as they had some diamonds to show us as we are eligible for upgrade within 2 years at full value for our Hearts on Fire ring. We really felt that the service there and at somerset 313 were professional and they were really nice. CC upgraded the ring for me as we foresee that we will be very busy next year with the wedding preparations. Need to save more money now!!!

On last Sun, 7 Nov, we were able to collect our ring, so we went down with Sf and Ohp after our dimsum buffet at fullerton on that day.

I got my AGS cert! For HOF diamonds, only 0.7cts or bigger diamonds will have the AGS cert that comes along with it. Previously I read that all HOF diamonds are Triple Ideal cut diamonds. So wat does it mean?

A Triple-0 diamond can also be called a "Triple Ideal Cut" or "AGS-Ideal Zero" diamond. In order for a diamond to receive a "Triple-0" grading, all three categories of cut (Polish, Symetry, Proportion) must meet the "ideal" criteria, thus the term, Triple Ideal. Interesting!

There are lots of diamonds in the market that claims to be Hearts and Arrows cut, meaning when viewed using an idealscope or loupe from the bottom, it displays eight symmetrical hearts and a perfect pattern of eight symmetrical arrows when viewed from the top.
However, some diamonds that are not cut well will display “broken hearts or broken arrows” which will affect the performance of the stone. Also, its not so nice to receive a proposal ring with broken hearts right? So how can we be sure?
For my diamond, I was v lucky to be able to see it when it was in a loose stone state, not mounted yet, so i managed to look at it thru the idealscope which really displayed perfect 8 hearts and arrows! In fact, all HOF diamonds picked randomly in the store will display this, and seeing is believing! Very happy!!! And best of all, the staff of Marina Bay Sands, Jewel Cove were very professional in serving us, they were not pushy, very accomodating and even helped to make a special request to get us an Idealscope for us. It came in a nicely wrapped box with a v cute message below. Thank you guys so much!!

My HOF Idealscope!

We got a cleaning cloth my my stone, very useful and good quality. Another HOF Pen, which we really like, its pretty classy and nice to write, and we didnt even had to request for all of these extras. They also gave us a very nice RED jewellery box for putting 4 dian jin for our wedding. Very pleased!
We also used our points accumulated from the purchase to buy a gold coin pendant. CC says its for his future son, Joshua. Haha, ok sure, its very worth it cos we only paid 100 plus and we can bring back a gold coin. Hee!
Thanks Dear and the staff of Jewel Cove, MBS~~

Pleasantly surprised~~~

Grand Park City Hall held its second wedding show this year today. Janice, our wedding coordinator had previously highlighted to us that the ballroom would be renovated this year during the 7th Lunar month cos obviously, there would be no wedding banquets held during this period. The theme was comtemplary i think.

Actually I think their decor previously was also quite nice, with all the chinese characters on the wall in the ballroom, it was quite artsy and different from the rest of the ballrooms. But nonetheless, renovation is good! The entire second floor would be renovated, all brand new, so it would be refreshing to ppl even if they had attended wedding at Grand Park before hehee...

Been very eagar to see its new look and today was a good chance as they were having the wedding show, so we decided to drop in since we were goin to marina sq for shopping. Armed with my camera, CC and I happily proceeded to see how our ballroom looks like after the makeover.

Main entrance, I dont remember seeing the huge chandelier before. Looks niceeee....

Once we stepped out of the lift, we see the differnce. This feature wall is definitely new, guests can take nice pics here haha, but the couch that was previously here is gone... Need to check with Janice on this cos we want the couch to be there for the elders to sit during the reception. hehe

Carpets also changed to this Rose printed a lil china romantic feel print. Its the same carpet in the ballroom as well. Woohoo~~~

The reception area is fully renovated as well, you can look at how it looks last time at my previous entry. The lightings are now all crystal chandeliers... Think it would look v nice at night!

Walls along the reception area has red flora peatal features as well...Its more modern looking... hehe..so far so good!

The moment of truth is here... This is how the ballroom looks the moment we stepped in. My first reaction is WOW! Huge bright shining crystal chandelier !!! Its what I hoped for!!!! Yay!!! The previous dome lighting was gone for good. hahaha

The other side of the ballroom with the runway for the wedding show.

Close up shot of the chandelier...
New design for the wedding cake. So far, all are improvements, good job!!
Inside the ballroom, the walls on the sides are now red with feature lights shining on it
This is how the door looks like from inside the ballroom looking out

One of the vendors for the wedding show, bridal car company with limo wedding car service. Last time it was limo bus, now this is a diff company. Looks so stylo sia... but I think it cannot come into our blk carpark, too long. haha

We went into the limo to take a look, very spacious inside, with a bar, got tv also i think you can sing KTV inside as well.. interesting ...

Behind of the car

Thats all for my updates. Hehe, so happy I went down to have a sneak peak!! Great job guys!!

Wedding shoes ~~

It was a lazy Sat afternoon, I slept til late cos CC had to report back to camp. Slept for like 12-14 hours, I think I should have repaid my sleep debt accumulated over the week. Hehe..

So we went to AMK hub to shop, the hawker food is really nice there and we need to save $ for our Korea trip and wedding. So we were shopping around, I wanted to buy a dress for CC's sister wedding dinner next week. In the end, never buy the dress and I ended up buying 3 pair of shoes. OMG...

So we were walking around and there is this shop called Kiyo, selling some very nice looking bling bling shoes. I had seen their shoes previously and I think their shoes are really pretty and suitable for brides to wear. Their designs are not so common as well, but prices mostly start from $59 onwards for these bling bling shoes.

So I went in, and they were have some discounts and..... I bought 2 pairs of heels and 1 pair of slippers. Opppsssss... so much for trying to save money!!

In my self-defense, these are expenses that I will have to spend sooner or later as I need to buy wedding shoes and they were on DISCOUNT! I spend like $107 in total for 3 pairs of shoes and I got a $30 voucher for my next purchase. Not a bad deal I think and I can bring them to my PS in Taiwan, so another item strike off from the TO BUY list for TW!

So here goes...

The first pair is a slip-on, glittery flowery glass slipper heels which I think is so sweet and its surprisingly comfy cos the material is actually kinda rubbery. Its on 20% discount and costs around $40+ in the end. I think I can wear this when I am wearing my knee length dress for my ROM as its a littly more young, and it should go well with the short dress. Hehe..

The heels are transparant with some engraving and diamonds spread along the side of the heel :) Love it!

The second pair is this pair of Super Bling high heel with strap behind. This was on 50% discount!! The picture really does not do the shoe justice, becos the diamonds really shine like MAD ok. I will shoe it to u when u come to my wedding! Hahaha

It even as 3 small diamonds on the buckle on the strap ! Cute right!!

So thats all for now, hehe, really looking forward to my Korea trip and my pre-wedding PS. Stay tuned for more updates :)

Updates !

It's been a long time since I have updated the blog so here I am! Much has happened since I last logged in.

First, I want to congratulate Huiping and JC on their very heartwarming ROM on the 11 July! So happy for the both of u, Mr and Mrs Wee!! Looking forward to attending ur wedding dinner next year, my partner in wedding planning. Hehe..

I also had a very enjoyable trip to Surabaya to visit my good fren Dee and his gf Kristi who were very good hosts to us when we were there. Really glad we made the trip there and will be inviting them to our wedding dinner next yr. hehe..

Next, updates on my wedding preparations -> Actual day photograher and Videographer has been confirmed!

AD Photographer --> John15 Photography --> Really nice work which CC and I really like and we love ur cats too!! Its a little over our budget but we really like their work and service so we went ahead with it. Strongly recommend their work to all couples out there. Do check out their website at http://www.john15photography.com/ or add them on Facebook!

AD Videography --> Recommended by my very nice colleague who got married recently, Nelson . His work is really quite funny and is something different from the rest. The pricing is also very reasonable so HP & JC and CC & XY has both taken him up for our AD!

Last but not the least, our year end trip has been confirmed! Our inital plan was to spend a white christmas in Korea, we had thoughts of changing the venue to China to save $ for our wedding. So we went down to the NATAs fair with SF to look at packages for China while she looked at packages for Korea.

After looking at so many packages, we realised that China was not cheap at all... Most of the pacakges were close to 1k or at least 1.5k. My goodness, we then went to Genting Holiday booth and they were really nice and patient and explained in detail their itinery to us. Price for Korea was also much lower than the other agencies too. In the end, we signed up for the 6 days Korea Winter package with them. 4 of us, CC, XY, SF and SP will be heading to Korea from 21 Dec to 26 dec for a white, snowy christmas in KOREA!!!!

We also signed up for a package for a photobook - we will be able design, choose the layout and print out a 48 page photobook. SF and I shared the package so we will have 1 hard and 1 soft cover photobook each. Planning to use 1 for my wedding and 1 for trips, maybe can use it to print my korea + honeymoon trip. Expiry will be at the end of 2012, so we got lots of time to take more pics!

Now need to save up, borrow winter clothings, prepare to take more pics! Woohoo~~

Wedding Band and Suit Collected!

Collected our wedding bands from SooKee! Love it! Here is a sneak peak~~

Collection of our lucky draw suit from La-Vie bridal. It consists of a pants and a jacket only, we both thought it would include a vest and shirt as well. Oh well, at least its pretty well made and the designer was very nice to us. I think he mentioned its made of some silk material also. Very shiny and feels comfy. Good for CC! Heee

XY Bdae

Just celebrated my birthday on the 29 May, very happy to have a long weekend since Fri cos of the Vesak day holiday. Would like to say THANK YOU to all who remembered my bdae and celebrated with me :)

Had a BBQ on Fri near SF house, thanks to TKS for helping us book the pit so last minute, mimi, sf and cc for helping to prepare the food, peipei, huimei, edmund, maureen and chee hong for joining the mini celebration! Really enjoyed the food and catching up . Thanks for the chain and necklace guys! I love it!! Heehee

Also had a mini celebration in the office on Wednesday. Was really surprised and abit paiseh..I shall not reveal too much on the details.. thanks for the vouchers!

Went to Grand Park City Hall with CC to use our $268.00 voucher which we won in the bridal show. We thought we can try dishes that may be included inside our wedding menu and on the food tasting we can try other variations (e.g. sharks fin in pumpkin, sharks fin in crab roe, sharks fin in crab meat etc) so we can choose the best for our menu.

Arrived around 12pm and started ordering to fully maximise the voucher. Really STUFFED . Look at what we ordered:

Peking Duck - My Fav dish out of the lot! The skin was very very crispy and frangrant!! The waitresses sliced the skin infront of us and wrapped for us. All we had to do was EAT! Yummy and the duck meat was used to cook fried rice. Look all the way down!

Pork and Chives Dumpling - A must try for chives lovers

Shanghai Xiao Long Bao - Lots of soup with very soft meat!

Sharks fin with Crab Meat - We had 1 serving each and as you can see below, the sharks fin is the real deal~ Lots of big pieces of crab meat and shark fin. Can really taste the seafood . CC's fav dish! If u are attending our wedding, u will likely see this on the menu!

Deep Fried Prawn with Wasabi Mayo - Very nice, and the below is a small portion we ordered. The wasabi makes the dish not feel oily and kinda refreshing. One of our fav dishes too!

Lobster dumpling - Very fresh lobster taste, but i was too full by now. Hahaa

Soon Hock in lotus leaf - Fresh fish, a little bland for me, but very fragrant . CC likes this dish despite the fact that he doesnt really like fish. Well done chef! - Im like super stuffed by now. Mostly finished by CC

Veggie in HK Style - Nice fresh veggie, frangrant. But Im too full to eat much

Yang Chow fried rice with Peking Duck Meat - Last dish, my stomach really cannot take it man. Very nicely done. Fragrant, the duck meat really heighten the dish, would loved to finish it but I really could not do it.. Even CC also very full by now..

Overall the food was of good standard and service was exellent, the waitresses keep refilling our tea when our cup was half full and was prompt in clearing our plates and changed plates for us too. They also explained to us and recommended new dishes to us. Very enjoyable experience~~ CC says he want to come here for anniversary or bdae celebrations next time.
We called for the bill and guess what, after ordering so much food, we only hit $238. The waitress then recommended us to order some dian xin or dessert to takeaway and not waste the remaining value - Good initiative! We ordered some gui lin gao and yang zhi gan lu back.
So full, but really happy with the food so fat. Hope u guys will be happy with the food on our wedding day too !

Takeaway dessert - Haven eat yet. Still very full. But the mango smells very tempting.... hee
