Taiwan photoshoot - Jun 2011

We arrived in Taiwan on the 16 June 2011, approx around 3 plus in the afternoon. We were very excited about our photoshoot and took a coach to our hotel, Liu He hotel.

When we arrived, we realised that the hotel is sort of like a motel, haha, look at the lift light, its neon lights. And when we arrived in the afternoon, there were lots of luxury cars parked down there. BMW, Benz, etc. Hahaha... but the room was quite spacious and we were only staying there for 2 nights as it is nearer to Cangai, our bridal studio. So it was alright .

In the hotel lift...

Can see the jacuzzi from the bed!

After putting down our stuff, we headed down to Cangai, which is less than 5 min walk from the hotel. It is really quite easy to spot the shop as there is a huge banner on the building which you can really see from afar. The shop itself has around 3-4 storey i guess. Hehe...

We were not allowed to take photos during the gown selection, thus we got no pics to show here. The staff who served us was Xiao Pei. She was very helpful and asked us on our preferences, where we would like to go for our outdoor shoot and then proceeded to pick out gowns for me to choose based on our criteria. The gown selection went very smoothly and we picked out the gowns and suits in less than 1 hour.

I picked out a red gown, a blue gown and 2 white gowns. Xiao Pei was very helpful and paid attention to the details of the gowns in order to not duplicate the feel of each look. E.g. the blue gown had a wavy blue chiffon design while the red dress was sort of layered texture for the bottom part. Each dress had a different distinct design and the colors that she recommended really came out really strong in the pictures which was really great!

CC had 2 suits to choose from and she also gave helpful suggestions to him. The trousers and dresses were amended on the spot and we did the fitting immediately. Very efficient!

After the gown fitting, we sat down with the photographer, Ah Dong to discuss the route for the next day. He asked us what we wanted and we had to fill up a checklist on our preferences on the feel we wanted. It was a really professional and comprehensive list which includes things like what feel we wanted, romantic, funny, natural etc. All we had to do was to tick on the check box to indicate our choices. It also includes things like which part of our body did we think was our best attribute, do we like side profiles or straight shots, do we like full body, half body, 3/4 or close up shots. You name it, they would have asked it.

After that, we showed the photographer some pics that i have researched and ask him if it was possible to go to those places, and he was very helpful in identifying those places and advising us on the route. He also asked questions to determine our personality and the type of outcome we wanted. Thus, we were very happy with the outcome. hehe

The next day, we reported to Cangai at 8am. Below is the makeup area for all brides and grooms!

This is where we were sitting while waiting for the makeup artist. There is another couple there too!. Behind are all the album covers we can choose from.

My makeup artist is Wei Chen, she is a petite lady and she is super skillful! She really understood my preferences and was able to accessorize me wonderfully. Really good customer service from the whole team, including the assistant who was running around and helping me with my dress during the process.

This is my first look from the studio before heading out. For my red gown. Hehee

During the shoot we were busy running around, changing gowns and hairstyles, posing, etc. No chance to take photos on our own. It was a really hot day esp June in TW is very hot, all of us really sweat alot, can see it was really tough for the photographer and the assistant as well, as they had to direct us, cheer us up, loosen us up to get the right shot. But no complaints from them all the way. It was really a fun and pleasant experience!

Below is taken when we returned back to cangai from our outdoor shoot. Around 8pm already and we were doing the hair and makeup for my studio shots.

Look at CC...Stoning already haha...

Finally done! Studio shots here we come!

Hahaha, by the time we finished the shoot, it was around 10plus, close to 11pm. Super tired! We went to buy Mac for dinner and headed back to the hotel.

Phew, the long awaited photoshoot was over just like tat~~~

It has really been a hectic few months preparing the stuff for Guo Da Li. Constantly monitoring gold prices, keeping a checklist of what needs to be bought, consulting our frens, esp Mrs Wee (OHP) on her valuable advise. Hehe...

Korea Haul~~

Below are some of the stuff, but not all, haha, that I bought in Korea. I didnt upload all cos it will really be too much. Hehe . Korea is really a cosmetics and skin care heaven for ladies!!!

Actually before going to Korea, I had done lots of research on what cosmetic brand to buy in Korea, looking at blogs, reviews and youtube on what ppl buy in Korea. I had a pretty long list and some of these brands are not avail in SG.

First, Baviphat! This is not available in SG, and the prices are really really good. It has a cute pink and black ribbon paper bag too!

Love these lip gloss, I bought these for my colleagues!

2 blushers and 1 eyeshadow, havent tried them out yet. Color looks pretty!

Paprika pore minimising toner. The essence was out of stock, which is reakky sad, cos i saw good reviews for it. I bought 2 toners, it smells divine and i think my pores did become a little smaller. Love this!!!

BB cream which I have yet to try it out yet. Hee!

Some shopping at the minimart, trying out these korean stuff we dont see in SG.

This brownie tastes really really YUMMY!

Skin79 from Dongdaemung. I bought this for my mummy, its the oriental set and it comes with 2 BB cream, 2 sun powder, 1 eye cream, 1 concealer, 1 night cream, 1 highlighter! Really really worth it for just 69 or 79k won! And the free gift was 4 mini bb cream which is convenient for travelling use! This 4 pcs mini bb cream is selling at $19.90 at Watsons by the way. And I got it free with such a fab package! Woohoo!

This is a keychain i bought in Everland, white tiger with purple ball of fur. Hee

Leopard print cape! I love it! It keeps me warm and it looks so pretty! It comes with 2 paws below which is attached to the cape, I can put a heat pack inside and slide my hands in and it will keep me warm. Love love love...

Bought some souveniurs as well, this set of stainless steel cutlery has tiger print on it, bought it for my dad, who is born in the year of the tiger.

Myeongdong haul!

Love this cleanser from Innisfree!! I saw good reviews on someones blog and tried it out. Really nice apple smell and cleanses well! I like....

3 step blackhead kit. Really cute as it has 1,2,3 labelled on the tubes inside haha.

Eyelashes from FaceShop. For my prewedding shoot and Actual Day. It costs only 1000 or 1500 won each and all comes with the glue. I have heard good things about their glue so i went on a spree! Bought eye liner as well. Hee

Etude House! My longest shopping list comes from this place. Haha!
This is AC Clinic, the balm is apparently good for lightening acne scars, I heard good reviews online as well, so i bought this for my bro and myself. Going to try it out!

Lipsticks for me and mummy! I like the LUCIdarling range as the colour is really strong and its quite moisturising but not like sticky. Been searching for a nude colour lipstick for sometime cos my lips are a tad dark, but the No 11 works great for me! With some smokey eyeshadows, and my lipstick, i think i will look like a korean. Haha.. And the best thing? It costs like $9 dollars there, compared to like 20-30 bucks here. Whew...

Footmasks from Beauty Credit. I tried it once, my feet was quite soft and moisturized. My heel also peeled a little. Not bad
CastleDew!!!! I was really afraid I wasnt going to be able to get this because I googled and i cant find anywhere selling this in Myeongdong. It doesnt have a shop by itself like Etude or Faceshop, its sold inside shops like Sasa which you really gotta go in and explore. Once again, I saw this brand online, whille doing research on what to buy. Saw its really really pretty packaging and saw good reviews for it. Apparantly its really shimmery and so I was so excited when I saw this in the Duty Free shop my tour group brought us to. So happy!! I have not tried this yet, this is so pretty. May try it during new year. Heee

Nail polish from Faceshop, from Dutyfree shop
The Odbo silky essence from Dutyfree shop, this brand is under Faceshop but its not avail in SG as well. The silky essence they claim works like SKII, it comes out in a gel form, but when applying, it becomes wattery and smells refreshing! I think its a really great product for skincare. Keeps my skin moisturized and soft. Heee...
BB cream, only 1 color avail and they say it adjusts to your skin color. I bought 2, havent tried it out yet cos im still trying to finish my current bb cream. Hee!

Really cute gold sticker to paste on ur HP to reduce radiation. I bought for myself and my family!

Free gifts!

More Korea Pics!

Below are some of the pics taken by the local photographer who is attached to our tour group. The resolution is not so good but the photos r really clear and nice. I was lazy to scan it in so i used my digital camera to take pics of the photos haha
